A Baltimore native, Elaine Zukowski graduated with a BFA in Fiber Art from the Maryland Institute in 2002. A career in craft created opportunities to learn processes such as mold making, casting, and traditional gilding. Pursuing metalsmithing courses at the Baltimore Jewelry Center supplied an understanding of both fabrication and critical thinking about design theory. Elaine has been a member of the BJC community since 2009, and during the past seven years has developed several limited series of art jewelry. Her work has been exhibited nationally, and her creations were awarded in the Maryland edition of Radical Jewelry Makeover 2017. Her current line is carried in the BJC’s retail collection, Metal Shop.
